Kembang Janggut, Kutai Kartanegara, 27 August 2026 – Koperasi Senyiur Indah, together with PT REA Kaltim Plantations (REA Kaltim) and PT Kutai Mitra Sejahtera (PT KMS), held a groundbreaking ceremony on 8 August 2026 for a new employee housing development at Kemunting Estate.

The project aims to build seven G6 housing blocks, each comprising for a total of 42 homes. The housing will accommodate both married and single employees at Plasma Senyiur Indah. Site preparation and land levelling began on 11 July 2026, followed by the groundbreaking ceremony in August. Construction is targeted for completion in January 2027.

Each unit measures 7.5 metres by 6 metres and will include two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, bathroom and terrace. The development is intended to replace temporary wooden accommodation and shared housing arrangements with more suitable facilities for employees and their families.

The project is fully funded through income generated by Koperasi Senyiur Indah from the sale of fresh fruit bunches (FFB), Plasma Senyiur Indah covers a total area of 749 hectares and employs approximately 103 people. Koperasi Senyiur Indah is one of the first cooperatives within REA Kaltim’s plasma network to allocate cooperative funds specifically for housing for plasma employees.

Koperasi Senyiur Indah is leading the project and is responsible for its planning, procurement and construction. PT KMS is providing technical support, field coordination and construction oversight, while REA Kaltim is supporting the initiative through programme guidance and by facilitating the development within the HGU area.

The initiative supports REA Kaltim’s Empowering Livelihoods pillar, which focuses on strengthening local capacity and enabling the economic benefits of plasma partnerships to contribute to longer-term improvements. In this project, income generated by the cooperative is being reinvested in better housing conditions for plasma employees and their families. Progress updates will be shared as construction advances.
