Tenggarong, East Kalimantan, February 11, 2026 – PT REA KALTIM PLANTATIONS (REA) has handed over three vehicles to one partner village in Kembang Janggut Sub-district, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, as part of an implementation of the Community Plantation Development Facilitation (FPKM) programmes for companies at Phase I referring to the Circular Letter of the Director General of Plantation, Ministry of Agriculture No. B-347/Kb.401//E/07/2023 concerning Facilitation of Community Plantation Development (FPKM) dated July 12, 2023 and Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture Number 18/2021 on Facilitation of Community Plantation Development.
The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at Pendopo Odah Etam, Tenggarong, and was carried out symbolically by the Bupati together with Luke Robinow, President Director of REA, Dr. Bremen Yong, Group Chief Sustainability Director of REA, Camat Kembang Janggut to the Head of Kembang Janggut Village.
The programme marks the implementation of a partnership agreement signed in mid-2025 between REA and Kembang Janggut Village, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening community livelihoods through locally driven economic solutions. Developed through close consultation with village leadership, the partnership is designed to create sustainable income opportunities, expand local participation in economic activities, and support village-managed enterprises as engines of growth.
Through a company-village FPKM partnership model, the vehicles generate recurring income by being rented back to the company for operational use, enabling villages to fund community priorities, create job opportunities for local residents, and build economic resilience. This approach supports the government’s direction on hilirisation by encouraging value creation at the local level, ensuring that economic benefits are retained within the community and contribute to long-term, inclusive rural development.
“For us, implementation of FPKM should create lasting value, not short-term assistance,” said Luke Robinow, President Director of REA. “This structure is designed to work sustainably for both the community and the company, ensuring the assets are utilised over the long term and continue to generate steady income..”
The initiative aligns with one of four REA’s sustainability strategic pillar; Empowering Livelihoods pillar, which focuses on enabling communities to build sustainable income sources through inclusive partnerships and locally driven solutions.
“By following the FPKM regulation, it is hoped that the needs stakeholders can be met and fostering a good investment climate in Kutai Kartanegara District”, said dr. Aulia Rahman Basri, M.Kesm Regent Kukar.
The Head of Kembang Janggut Village welcomed the arrangement, highlighting its long-term impact. “Through this FPKM partnership, the vehicles remain village assets and are rented to REA for its activities,” he said. “This creates regular income for the village and gives us flexibility to use the funds for community priorities. It is a model that supports independence rather than one-time assistance.”
“Aligned with the Head of Kembang Janggut Village said, as the programme’s implementing partner, we expect that this partnership will help improve the village's welfare and increase the economic prosperity of the community,” stated Yadi. SP.d Chief Of Koperasi Desa Merah Putih, Kembang Janggut Villager
“Being sustainable is about creating lasting values through collaboration,” said Dr Bremen Yong, Group Chief Sustainability Officer of REA. “By structuring FPKM around village-owned assets that continue to generate value, we are reinforcing trust with communities and promoting socio-economic development and resilience at both village and landscape level.”
Through this FPKM programme, REA aims to ensure that its partnerships with surrounding villages deliver tangible outcomes that support economic independence and sustainable development.
