REA ASSESSED AS “DELIVERING” 100% UNDER NDPE IRF

August 26, 2025

East Kalimantan, Indonesia, June 23, 2025 — All PT REA KALTIM PLANTATIONS (REA) mills and kernel crushing plants have been independently verified by Control Union under the No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE) Implementation Reporting Framework (IRF) and assessed as Delivering 100% – the highest assessment category achievable.

Verification under NDPE IRF covered REA’s production of crude palm oil (CPO), palm kernels (PK) and crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) and was conducted by Control Union (M) Sdn Bhd under the NDPE IRF Verification Protocol v5.8.

The assessment confirms that REA’s supply base and production volumes in 2024 (totalling 252,607 metric tonnes) were100% compliant.

NDPE IRF

The NDPE IRF, developed by the Palm Oil Collaboration Group (POCG), is an industry tool designed to track and assess progress in implementing NDPE commitments.

The Delivering category represents the highest level of implementation, whereby supply chains are managed to ensure that they are:

  • Deforestation-free – no fresh fruit bunches (FFB) sourced from deforested areas
  • Peat-free – no development or sourcing from peatland areas
  • Traceable – with full traceability from plantation to mill.

Strengthening responsible supply chains

REA has long been committed to responsible palm oil production. Through robust traceability systems, satellite monitoring and stringent supplier due diligence, REA maintains careful oversight of its supply base while also supporting smallholders and local communities to adopt sustainable practices and empowering livelihoods.

This milestone builds on REA’s sustainability achievements, including 100% RSPO certification of all mills since 2023, 100% RSPO certification for all plantations, EUDR-readiness since August 2024, ISO 14001 certification, and ongoing programmes and partnerships to protect biodiversity and support smallholder livelihoods.
